Pasamos dos días probando un Ford Bronco Badlands Sasquatch 2024 en rocas, arena y barro para ver cómo su hardware se traduce en capacidad real. Desde la altura del suelo y los ángulos de aproximación hasta el comportamiento de sus sistemas de tracción en las cuatro ruedas, aquí te contamos cómo se manejó en una mezcla de recorridos técnicos y caminos de tierra rápidos.

Nuestro modelo de prueba fue un Badlands de cuatro puertas con el paquete Sasquatch: llantas Goodyear Territory MTs de 35 pulgadas LT315/70R17, ruedas capaces de beadlock y una relación final de 4.70. La potencia proviene de un motor V6 biturbo de 2.7 litros (330 hp, 415 lb-ft) y una transmisión automática de 10 velocidades. Las cifras clave son impresionantes: 11.6 pulgadas de despeje del suelo, ángulos de aproximación/salida/cruce de aproximadamente 43/37/26 grados, y se afirma que puede vadear hasta 33.5 pulgadas de agua. Las placas de acero en la parte inferior protegen el frontal, la caja de transferencia y el tanque de combustible.

Recorrimos un circuito rocoso de 12 millas, un camino forestal lleno de surcos y agua, y un lavado de arena de dos millas. Las temperaturas ambientales variaron entre 62 y 81°F. Las presiones de los neumáticos se ajustaron a 32 psi en carretera y se redujeron a 18 psi fuera de ella. Pesamos el Bronco con dos ocupantes y equipo de recuperación, alcanzando poco más de 5,200 lb, manteniendo la carga dentro de las especificaciones y midiendo el consumo de combustible a lo largo de 78 millas en terreno mixto.

La gestión del tren motriz es intuitiva. El avanzado sistema 4x4 a demanda ofrece 2H, 4A, 4H y 4L; la baja tiene una relación de 3.06:1. Con ejes de 4.70 y la transmisión de 10 velocidades, la relación de marcha lenta es de 67.8:1, lo que permite un control del acelerador limpio en terrenos rocosos. Los bloqueos delantero y trasero se activan rápidamente, y el desconector electrónico de la barra estabilizadora funciona bajo carga, añadiendo articulación útil donde las suspensiones independientes delantera suelen tener dificultades.

En el jardín de rocas (inclinaciones de hasta 18%, bordes de 12 pulgadas), el modo 4L con ambos bloqueos y la barra desconectada permitió que el Bronco avanzara sin patinar. El control basado en frenos al estilo A-TRAC está bien ajustado cuando está abierto, pero los bloqueos reducen el ruido y el calor. La cámara delantera ayuda a elegir la línea; el limpiaparabrisas la mantuvo operativa en el barro. No registramos golpes en la placa, y el chasis superó los picos de cruce que el Wrangler igualaría, pero muchos crossover se quedarían atascados.

En barro y arena, los modos 4A y Sand/Mud ruts de GOAT redujeron la tensión en la transmisión en superficies de agarre mixto. El Trail Turn Assist realmente agudizó las curvas cerradas en caminos estrechos. A alta velocidad, los amortiguadores Bilstein sensibles a la posición (Sasquatch) mantuvieron el movimiento del cuerpo controlado sobre las ondulaciones, mientras que los rivales de eje sólido se sienten más inestables, aunque la IFS todavía levanta una llanta más pronto en obstáculos lentos y de ejes cruzados. El consumo fuera de carretera promedió 15.2 mpg; con el tanque de 20.8 galones, planeamos un rango conservador de 250 a 275 millas.

En general, el Bronco Badlands Sasquatch ofrece una verdadera capacidad todoterreno desde el primer momento, equilibrando relaciones de marcha adecuadas para el arrastre y bloqueos con estabilidad a alta velocidad. Se siente más cómodo en rocas, arena y caminos surcados; el barro profundo exige una selección cuidadosa de neumáticos. Para los compradores, prioricen los ejes de 4.70, la cámara delantera y las placas de deslizamiento; añadan un neumático verdaderamente todoterreno o de invierno para la nieve. Si necesitan más articulación para un arrastre extremo, un Wrangler Rubicon todavía lo supera, pero la versatilidad del Bronco es excepcional.
